Dexter grew up in the Oakwood neighborhood of Venice and was a member of the Venice Neighborhood Council from 2007 to 2009. Prior to joining Councilmember Bonin’s staff as the Bridge Home Deputy, Dexter was a student in Chicago, a schoolteacher in Detroit, a city planner in Charleston, SC and Chico, CA, and (most importantly) a camp counselor for the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks at both Oakwood RC and Penmar RC. Outside of the office, his interests include reading about water policy in the American West, getting into the outdoors, and refereeing youth soccer.
