Geoff Kees Thompson serves as the LAX Community Liaison to Councilmember Mike Bonin and the communities of Council District 11. The position was developed by Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and the Los Angeles City Council to provide the communities of Council District 11 with accurate and objective information regarding the multi-billion dollar modernization efforts at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the airport’s impacts on the surrounding communities, and to inform LAWA of the communities’ concerns.
Geoff has a broad range of policy experience and has worked in the private sector, for nonprofits and most recently in local government. Prior to assuming this role, Geoff worked with Mike as CD11’s interim Transportation Policy Director. In addition to helping guide Mike’s Transportation Policy work, Geoff was also the lead author and designer of the City’s Comprehensive Homeless Strategy as a FUSE Fellow in the City Administrative Officer’s office.
