David Graham-Caso serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff and the Communications Director. He is responsible for working with the press and members of Westside communities to help connect constituents with Councilmember Bonin’s office and City government. He additionally advises the Councilmember on environmental and energy policy issues and played a key role in the Councilmember’s work to raise the minimum wage in Los Angeles.
Before joining the team at the start of Mike’s first term, David helped make history when he served as Campaign Manager on the successful effort to elect Ron Galperin as City Controller – making Galperin the first openly-LGBT individual elected to a citywide office in the history of L.A. David has also worked as the Communications Director to former-Councilmember Richard Alarcón, the Deputy Press Secretary for the Sierra Club and as a Media Relations Specialist at a local public affairs firm.
David has been active in local politics for years and has served as the Communications Chair for the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters, a Partner at the Truman National Security Project and a mentor for the New Leaders Council program. He also regularly offers media coaching, communications training and message development guidance to the National Council of Jewish Women and Emerge California. Previously, David was the President of the Los Angeles County Young Democrats, and in his two-year term, he helped the club grow to become the largest young Democratic club in California.
David graduated from UCLA with a degree in Political Science and currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife Lindsay and their sons.
